Our September Holiday Programme brings children into the world of Roblox Studio, where they can explore coding, game development and 3D world-building through a hands-on, project-based experience. Super Mario Coding Adventure: From Playing Games to Making Them

Most children recognise the basic ingredients of a platform game: a character, a world to explore and things that make the journey more challenging.

The Super Mario Adventure allowed children to play with ideas and tools, giving rein to their unlimited imagination.  Children were introduced to augmented reality and virtual reality, which showed them how digital worlds can become interactive.

MakeCode Arcade let them focus on building a game full of hero figures, obstacles, and other game elements that could make the game more like a real world.

Of course, the Mario theme continued when we got into Minecraft Education. The only change was that the stage got bigger. Instead of a small arcade game, here children got a chance to construct a three-dimensional world they imagined.

That meant making decisions about the environment itself. Where should things go? What should the player see? How should the world feel?

The same theme therefore, became a starting point for several different kinds of digital creation

The June camps offered these young minds several starting points, from constructing a playable arcade experience to building an escape room or building a Roblox maze.

Minecraft Escape Rooms: When the World Becomes the Puzzle

Building something is one challenge. Creating something that another child must solve is another. That was the idea behind the Minecraft escape-room projects.

Students created spaces containing hidden roads, switches, and interactive elements. Instead of manually constructing every part of their environment, they could use code and Minecraft mechanics to make parts of the world respond to the player.

Redstone, pistons, levers and sensors became useful for creating those interactions. A simple room could instantly turn into a puzzle the children had to solve.  Then came the fun part: students could try one another’s creations. That shifted how children looked at their own projects.

The Minecraft programme eventually moved from individual puzzles to something much larger. Students designed their own Smart Towns, bringing buildings and automated elements together into a bigger digital environment.

Roblox Game Creation: Building a Game Players Can Explore

Just random pathways put together to create a minefield, or a maze, sounds quite simple. But when you decide you must make it livelier, things become interesting.

Roblox Studio was the base for children to build a game using mazes. They weren’t limited to creating pathways and walls.

Children could add other elements to modify the theme and player actions.  Moving platforms could create new challenges. Reward mechanics could add another reason to keep exploring.

Roblox’s programming language, Lua, let children experience newbie-level scripting to make certain game sections different. The result was more than a static 3D environment. Students were building spaces that did something.

And because they could test one another’s creations, they got to see whether the game they had imagined worked for another player.

What is a coding holiday camp?

A fun, hands-on programme where children learn coding, robotics, and technology through exciting projects.

Our camps are suitable for children aged 6–12 years, with programmes tailored to different age groups.

No. Most camps are beginner-friendly, and our instructors guide students every step of the way.

A number of secondary schools offer Robotics DSA under Robotics, STEM, Engineering, or Applied Learning Programmes. Selection criteria vary by school and may include interviews, practical assessments, portfolio reviews, or demonstrations of technical ability. Yes. Every student receives a Certificate of Participation upon completing the programme.
